2020 Improving Veteran’s Care Conference
“Veterans living in rural and highly rural areas are at 20% greater risk of dying by suicide than Veterans who live in urban areas. Often times, Veterans living in rural areas have to travel great distances to access Veteran Health Administration centers, limiting available support networks.”
This conference, planned in coordination with the Sioux Falls VA Health Care Administration, is of interest to clinicians, health professionals, and those that are involved in the care and support of Veterans/service members and/or their families. It is recommended for Psychologists, Counselors and Marriage & Family Therapists, Social Workers, Addiction & Prevention Professionals, educators, students, and others. This conference delivers important information that will assist healthcare providers and other professionals as they work to support families of Veterans.
This year’s conference will be held on Friday, May 15th at USD’s Community College for Sioux Falls and will focus on three areas: MISSION ACT, Suicide Prevention, and Rural Health Partners.
