Internship & Outreach Coordinator

We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating positive change, and who has the drive and initiative to make things happen.
 
The Internship and Outreach Coordinator for the Project Next program will work to promote Telehealth & Health IT careers. This position will focus on promoting Telehealth & Health IT careers through implementation of the Project NEXT Telehealth Student Practicum program. The Internship and Outreach Coordinator will work under the direction of the Center Director and in partnership with Project NEXT leadership team.

Full-time position with some travel
Salary: $18.46 – $21.15 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Implement and evaluate the Project Next Telehealth Student Practicum.
a. Contact approved schools for recruitment of student participants.
b. Facilitate in-school informational sessions for students.
c. Coordinate virtual informational sessions with interested students and their parent(s)/guardian(s).
d. Review student applications and make recommendations.
e. Contact students and parents/guardians with letter of acceptance and required program forms/documentations.
f. Coordinate virtual orientation with students, parents, and teachers/advisors.
g. Work with facility contact to coordinate student placements and schedule.
h. Communicate schedule to students.
i. Assist with the students’ site visit to Sioux Falls with Project NEXT Lead.
j. Ensure students complete online curriculum and evaluations.
k. Collect and disseminate evaluation data measuring program effectiveness.
l. Provide students with program completion certificates.
2. Research, develop, implement, and evaluate the Telehealth & Health IT curriculum and training within the SD AHEC Scholars: Rural Health Leadership Program.
a. Research and develop Telehealth & Health IT curriculum.
b. Host a virtual telehealth training session.
c. Collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate data measuring program effectiveness.
3. Organize, facilitate, implement, and evaluate the Telehealth & Health IT career exploration events.
a. Organize and facilitate career exploration events – 3 per year.
b. Distribute marketing materials.
c. Collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate data measuring program effectiveness.
4. Organize, facilitate, implement, and evaluate the Telehealth & Health IT programming with local South Dakota HOSA – Future Health Professionals chapters.
a. Organize and facilitate programming.
b. Develop marketing strategies and distribute materials.
c. Collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate data measuring program effectiveness.
5. Prepare required federal grant reports and other assigned reports.
a. Complete reports and maintain files.
6. Perform other work as assigned.

 

Additional information:
The Internship and Outreach Coordinator will work under the direction of the Center Director and in partnership with Project NEXT leadership team.
Center Director’s pre-approval is required for meetings, workplan, and travel. Request for purchases will be made through the Center Director. Approval is needed for reports; evaluation tools; and marketing initiatives and materials.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Bachelor’s degree
Knowledge of:
· program implementation and evaluation;
· Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Skill to:
· manage multiple work tasks including prioritizing tasks, creating timelines, and establishing milestones to ensure projects are completed on time;
· communicate ideas and information effectively to a variety of audiences;
· analyze and report data;
· deal tactfully and professionally with a variety of individuals and entities;
· complete high-quality work with the appropriate technology including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Ability to:
